FEJAN

Located just a few minutes boat ride from Räfsnäs, north east of Furusund is Fejan, an island of great natural beauty.

The 1,5 km long island is famous for many reasons. Fejan is where the last case of cholera against Sweden was stopped, it is where the Estionian people came when they escaped their home country back in 1944 and the Swedish Maritime Administration had their sailing camp here.

Most of the land of Fejan is privately owned but since 1995 the Archipelago Foundation owns and maintains Sweden's oldest quarantine station on the north-eastern side of the island. After a massive renovation it was leased and is today run as Fejan Restaurant & Conference.
